# The Future of UK Law in the Age of AI: A Lawyer Speaks

As of this week, according to the [AI Hallucinations Database](https://www.damiencharlotin.com/hallucinations/), nearly1,800 court cases worldwide have seen lawyers use AI-fabricated citations.

The UK has had its share too, including a much-covered recent case involving Pinsent Masons.

In a sector where detail and accuracy can have literally life-changing consequences, why is this still happening?
